Sue Redding
Licensed Massage Therapist
Reiki Master
Sue studied for two years at the Oregon
School of Massage. After successfully completing both a written and practical
examination administered by the state, Sue received her massage license from the
Oregon Board of Massage Therapists in December 1996. She has been in private practice
since that time and is a member of both the Oregon Massage Therapists Association
(OMTA) and the national organization, the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals
(ABMP). Previously, Sue was a mainframe computer programmer/analyst for twenty years.
Sue has also studied Reiki, etheric healing, and other forms of energy healing. She received her master-level initiation in Reiki in 1997. Sue began her practice of yoga in 1994 and took vocal lessons from 1996 to 2009.
Sue grew up in Portland with normal sight corrected with glasses for near-sightedness. When she was 20, her vision began deteriorating due to a retinal degenerative disease similar to Retinitis Pigmentosa. For most of her adult life, Sue has been living with impaired vision. She is effectively blind with some light perception.
Sue welcomes your questions about her vision loss and living with blindness.
It's true what they say about blind people - the other senses tend to be more acute than those of sighted people.
Sue uses her enhanced sense of touch and intuition to improve your experience of massage and bodywork.
Sue is an ideal professional to work with anyone who may not be comfortable with their own body image. Complete standard draping is used at all times. Your privacy and dignity are respectfully preserved.
