Reverence and Humor
Recently, I was privileged to attend a gathering
in celebration of the life of a friend who is recovering from
cancer. I was struck by the depth of the group - mostly bodyworkers,
therapists, and other healers - their love, compassion, reverence,
and gentle humor, rare in any social gathering. I was blessed
with the awareness at the time to be able to appreciate that golden
hour as it was happening.
Of course, the quality of the gathering only reflects
the guest of honor, who draws these people to himself. I am honored
and grateful to have been included. I'm also grateful to have
been given the gift of being able to be present in that moment.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.
