Fear of Change

TThe trouble with transformation is that, no matter what our intentions, we never really know what the result will be.  Even if we choose a change, it can be stressful.  There may be unexpected consequences, or some aspect of the psyche may cling to the status quo or grieve the loss of what once was.  Any change entails some risk, and major change naturally comes with greater risk.

How could we be conscious and not be afraid?

Yet growth and improvement require that we muster the courage to move forward.

But we can still whimper.

Namaste,
Honor the Light Within,
Sue Redding

""Fear is the first natural enemy a man must overcome on his path to knowledge."
- Carlos Casteneda

"Every so often, one simply must start all over, painful as this might be.
And then at some future time, one often realizes the change has made things better."
- Rajnar Vajra

"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new."
- Albert Einstein

"In life, change is inevitable, but growth is optional."  Unknown

Kahlil Gibran "The Prophet" on Marriage:

"... Let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow."

Interacting With A Blind Person
When I meet a person who is blind...

I will identify myself so that she doesn't wonder who I am.

I will use the words, "look," "see," "blind," etc. as appropriate in normal conversation.

I will offer assistance to a blind person in crossing streets even though she may have a cane or GUIDE dog.
