Multi-Tasking
How tempting it is to dash about accomplishing more than one thing at a time.
We feel so efficient and virtuous, so harried and scattered. But don't we lose
something like peace of mind and quality of life? It may take intention and
discipline to resist falling into our cultural trap of doing more in less time,
to hurry through our lives not spending quality time with ourselves or our loved
ones.
Dare to slow down and take time to do only one thing or even nothing at all.
It may be a little scary at first to allow enough space for our own thoughts
and feelings, but maybe only because we're not used to it. Granted, we
probably don't have the luxury to slow down all the time, but you may be
surprised at the results of a little practice now and then.
