Our eyes do not see You,
But we have this excuse:
Eyes see surface, not reality;
Though we keep on hoping in this lovely place.

Remodeling
When you've lived in a house for 20 years, as I have, maintenance needs to
happen, and it's just plain time for a change. We now have new, beautiful paint
colors - the massage room is a lovely, soothing silver-lavender, the kitchen is
a vibrant yellow, and other rooms are warm, rich earth tones, all surrounded by
creamy, white woodwork. The kitchen flooring is in the midst of being replaced,
and new carpet is on order, due to be installed later this month. Yippee!
Much of this is basic maintenance, which has been long-delayed. I wasn't all
that enthusiastic about it, at first - after all, I can't see the results, and
frankly, part of me is naturally resistant to change. But the house likes the
attention, and those who can see are pleased by the results.
It has also been a fantastic opportunity for a 20-year spring cleaning -
reorganizing, cleaning, and clearing out the clutter of things that inevitably
accumulate over time. Releasing that which no longer serves me may be the
greatest instrument for positive change. I think I feel lighter.
