Swedish massage is the most common form of massage used in Europe
and the U.S., and is the form of massage licensed by the state of Oregon. Using
oil or lotion on the skin, the Licensed Massage Therapist (L.M.T.) massages the
skin, muscles and connective tissues to provide general relaxation, relieve stress,
alleviate muscular soreness, enhance lymphatic drainage, as well as provide many
other benefits. Swedish massage is performed after the client disrobes to his
or her level of comfort and lies down in a warm room covered by a sheet.
